Most MP4 files use AAC audio, which downloads as M4A. Since the audio bytes are copied rather than recreated, extraction is usually much faster than real time and keeps the source quality intact.

Why does the download usually use M4A?
Most MP4 videos contain AAC audio. M4A is the standard audio-only container for that track. If your MP4 uses another supported audio codec, the download uses an audio-only MP4 instead.
Will this work on a slow computer or phone?
